Lindsay Quick Change extension for Classic
and PalmControl® Classic handpieces
These quick change extensions won't wear out. They are made from 440C stainless and hardened to 60 Rockwell. 60
Rockwell is as hard as a high speed steel graver and therefore these QC extensions are made for a life time of service. They are detented for a snap in fit
utilizing the internal O-ring in the nose of the AirGraver® handpieces. They extend a graver 5/8".
The NitroG20 will work with either a foot control or with a
PalmControl® handle. It has a larger and
longer internal bore and piston than the Classic or Artisan handpieces. The NitroG20 comes standard with a heavy 20gram Tungsten piston. Price of
the handpiece and tungsten piston is $995. For $75 additional it will have the L slots milled on the back of the body so that a
PalmControl® handle
will fit and snap on and off of it. CFM air volume requirement to run the tools is 0.9 CFM at 70 to 90PSI. The Supersilent 20-A compressor is too
small. The Supersilent 50-TC is large enough though as it outputs 2.0CFM at 84PSI to 114PSI. Other compressors that can out put at least
.90CFM at 80PSI should work fine with the tool. The tool can also be run with a 80psi CO2 regulator either in a foot control setup or
PalmControl® setup.
The 80PSI CO2 regulator is listed below.
The NitroG20 is included with one presharpened M42, one M42 graver blank, two HSS graver blanks, handpiece tubing wrenches
and an owners manual.
Recommended operating PSI for the NitroG20 is 70 to 90 PSI. See below about upgrading your air regulator
gauge and/or CO2 regulator.

Graver polishing Apply diamond compound to the back side of a
1/16" thick steel diamond lap (sold above) and use it for polishing graver
facets. When a metal lap is used, some of the diamond will embed itself
into the steel preventing it from wiping off. This is called “charging” a
lap. A copper lap works for this too. Ceramic can also be used, however the diamond will not imbed it self. More information about polishing gravers can be found on the EngravingSchool.com site:

carbide dental burrs or
carbide rod to a four sided taper that can be used in the
air rotarty tools such as the
NSK Presto.
The fixture has a through hole so a longer piece of carbide can
be sharpened if need be. If you would like a tapered point that
is steeper or less step, all that need be done is to set the
fixture on something of suitable thickness so as to give the
taper desired. This can be used with diamond bench stones like

Casting by Weldon Lister Study Aid for deep relief engraving
Master Engraver Weldon Lister has available a bronze resin casting of a buckle project that he engraved. The original was engraved intaglio out of a
piece of sterling silver 2"x3"x 1/8" thick. The work (a private commission) is my three-dimensional interpretation of a 1916 painting by WHD Koerner.
Weldon usually works with the hammer & chisel but on this project he busted out every tool & technique in the arsenal including his Lindsay Classic
palm tool which came in pretty handy for the enormous amount of background that had to
be removed.
Weldon decided to do some resin castings and make them available for those who would like to study the work. The castings are copper/bronze resin &
though they look like bronze, they are plastic. The castings show only the front (not the back) of the buckle & are signed & numbered on the back.
